In the dyeing industry: Sodium Hydrosulfite is used as a reducing agent to help dissolve insoluble dyes or to remove residual dyes, residual oxides and unexpected colorants for better dye quality.
In bleaching: Sodium Hydrosulfite is used for bleaching silk, as additional bleaching for cotton fabrics. When combined with formaldehyde, it creates Rongalite, an effective bleaching agent against pulp, cotton, wool, leather, etc.
Sodium Hydrosulfite is also found with applications in water treatment, air purification, cleaning and rust removal.
It is also used in the printing industry.
